Hello everyone!

So I build my PC about 3 years ago for the first time (I'm not a computer expert so just follow online guidance).

I used a Ryzen 5 3400G (integrated graphic Card), because at that time GPUs were crazy expensive and I'm not much of a gamer (only play Diablo games and League).

Now I wanted to upgrade and got an used RX 6600 TX and wanted to test if the GPU was good before I install a new CPU (Ryzen 5 5600).

Now that I have install and running the RX 6600 TX with the Ryzen 5 3400G, I have my game (D4) freezing at times and having some issues which looks like lags? I'm not an expert with computers, but does this meant the computer is bottlenecking? and If I change the CPU I will not have that problem? or is this a bad GPU? or perhaps something to do with the drivers? I did run the GPU with Heavens something benchmark and it ran for 30mins with no crashes...

I didnt have these issues when I played the D4 Beta with just the CPU and no GPU (although in lower graphics), but it did say my GPU needed an upgrade or something like that.

I just want to fix this small issue and be able to play smoothly.

PS: When I play I do have other website open and looking at youtube videos as well. not sure if this has anything to do with it?

Other Specs is 16GB Rams, Power Supply is 600, not sure what else is important.

Thank you!

Open task manager in your other screen if you have one, go to performance, when you are freezing does your GPU or CPU hit 100% for an amount of time? Is that time when you're lagging?

Hello! I will try testing this. can you check this with the msi afterburner. once I freeze in game, most times it freezes everything, so I cant even click on the other monitor, or it will respond but slowly.

Yes, monitors are plugged into the GPU

If you have it actively up you'd be able to see - or HWInfo has a tool to trend your % usage.

Got it, I will try that today. so if I do notice one is at 100% and not the other, then thats the one causing this freezes (is it bottlenecking?)?

If its the GPU, does it mean is a bad GPU (I bought it used), it does run the benchmark fine as I stated.

and if its the CPU, then it just means its to low for the GPU and I should install my Ryzen 5 5600 to make it work better?

Thank you!

It could be your storage, too. What drive do you have for storage? Your cpu would definitely give out before your GPU here.

I would have to check, but rom memory I have M2 500gb (after installing D4, it might be at 400GB)
Also have ssd 500gb and 1T Hard drive (the big ones). both of these ones should not be more than 100GB full.

I could try to move a few things out of the M2 so I only have D4 on it?

SSD/m2 should be fine as long as it has enough storage (you only want to have storage 80-90% full at max or they start buggin)

Got it, thank you for all the help! I will test when I play tonight and see if CPU or GPU go to 100%
