Please help!

So I have cable internet 400 down 50 up and speed runs great, i play games on my laptop no issues (mainly wow)

phones tvs do fine over wifi.

my gaming pc is hardwired( Its not amazing gaming pc few years old now but it is good I believe)

I had a problem couple years ago playing cod warfare my internet kept dropping like crazy, enough where I didnt want to play cod anymore

Now that d4 is out it keeps dropping connection all the time trying to play. This does not seem to happen when playing other games on my machine

I have only noticed it on d4 and cod ware. I do not know if it is a coinidence or can a game actually cause your internet to keep crashing? This machine is hardwire by the way.

Any help greatly appreciated!@
Thanks,

Only suggestion is opening the ports for the games, use port fowarding through your router.

Cod games ports- https://support.activision.com/articles/ports-used-for-call-of-duty-games

Diablo 4 ports - https://portforward.com/diablo-iv/

hope this helps

Does your Modem & Router Sit flat against a surface? example a wall or desk?
While gaming ( Especially cheaper modems/routers Provided by ISP ) Generally overheating, causing interruptions, malfunctions, spiked ping, ect.

Notice how that Blue Wifi Router has longer feet, and is sitting about an inch off the surface of that desk? That will reduce heat almost 30% .
You don't even need a full inch, half an inch will work.

So if your modem/router is looking like that black one , I suggest maybe getting a stack of coins , or 4 bottle caps or something, to give it some height !

* Long story short, I used to have problems all the time, Various Internet services providers * They always said hey we will send you our latest Upgraded Units ect .
But even the Cheapest unit will work better than an expensive over heating unit. ( Not saying go cheap, just saying don't let it over heat ! )

Try something else hardwired and put a comparable load on it

Try something bandwidth heavy like streaming multiple YouTube 4K

Uninstall and reinstall drivers

Update/clean router
