Recently picked up a dell all in one for my kids to play games on, it's a inspiron 24 5400. It was purchased with 8GB ram so I ended up getting 16GB since windows took up close to 100% of the ram and only had about 500mb to be uses towards games.

I installed fortnite & apex legends for them but all the guns have a white outline around them and don't render in & all the textures look funky. Tried different in-game settings and nothing has changed. Figured it was driver related so I tried a few previous driver version (6 different ones) & have the same graphical issues where your walking around and the ground textures don't show up so it's a weird mesh and stuff.

I still feel like it's a driver issue, anyone have any recommendations on what to do?

send link to the dell - it may have igpu which isnt good for any gaming

E: just checked the specs its An i5 11 gen with igpu which isnt good for gaming like i said. that is why you are getting those graphical glitches. try reducing the graphics of the game. that may fix it.

Have the 12th Gen i3-1215U (using the integrated graphics don't have a gpu)

Edit: tried the minimum settings with everything turned off & recommend settings, also manually changed all the settings to see if I could get it to show textures and stuff properly before trying the next driver.

ive looked on youtube. someone using the same cpu and 8gb ram. the are playing at 1080p low. they get about 30 fps with noticeable stuttering through gameplay.

have you tried to reduce resolution to 720p?

Just tried warzone since I watched a video of someone playing it with the lowest settings on the same cpu. I matched the settings with everything on low and the game is running perfect except the wierd graphical issue. :wallbash:

The fps is good but when you land the ground turns green or blue and has strange shapes instead of the standard texture. And some buildings are just a pixelated blob of different colors. Just never really messed with swapping drivers before, not sure if there is something I'm missing. Been using Intel website and downloading drivers I see people recommend and restarting after they download then trying out the game with different settings.

if you have updated drivers and its still an issue, then the igpu just isnt strong enough. the only thing left for you to do is swap the drivers like you have said. its quite easy and wont damage the computer at all. just uninstall current driver via control panel uninstall and install the other one. if you dont have the drive in the uninstall program you may have to do it via device manager.

E: if there is a possibility of return you could always get a pc tower instead with a dedicated gpu. i have looked on newegg and for 724$ you can get an ryzen 2600 and a 2060 gpu. its older gen but will be great for all games on med to high settings at 60fps 1080p or for 500 to 600$ range you can get a i5 10 gen and a 1650. the cpu new 2 years old and the gpu is slower and older then the 2060. the 1650 is an entry level gpu and it will play games on med settings no problems.

Yeah wanted to build one for around the same price we spent during Christmas time on the aio but the wife said no to that.. thanks for the help, never really had a driver issue or anything in the past so I was not sure if I was even doing it right. Lol
