My theory is that by digging deep for things that they personally feel shame about, and being able to take advantage of their own anonymity which ensures the receiving party cannot verify whether or not those things pertain to them, they hope to land a proverbial shot in the dark and cause the other person to feel the same sense of shame.
I don't personally buy into the idea that great mines discuss ideas; small minds discuss people, but small minds certainly avoid addressing ideas they can't meaningfully object to.
