Like I said they are basically the same in speeds and the reads are usually what matters most for gamers and shit.
While TLC does degrade faster its still something like 5,000 writes by which time I'd probably replace said drive.
Samsung uses a new type of nand they developed which isn't much better and to make up for the loss of speed
they enhanced other parts/firmware in their devices to go beyond the average drive.

Both nand sacrificed speed and writes to achieve greater capacity's. SLC and MLC are better but costs are higher and size is a factor.

the degradation i was referring to was the tendency for tlc, planar in particular, to experience electron drift in regions that haven't been rewritten for some time, this causes read speeds to drop significantly when it comes to files that have been in one place for a long time.

these are results with that drive brand new, after 1 month, then after 2 months respectively

i see him recommend it to people over current market leaders so i thought it was worth some research and i was wondering if he was aware of this or has found a solution. maybe it's been fixed on the firmware side or os level already. All you'd have to do is rewrite or move the data periodically and the drift is gone. All things considered it's a relatively minor issue. I'm not 'trashing' it, just inquiring.

There was really no need to take my post personally and bring emotions into this.

I don't understand, where am I talking shit? Is it not healthy to be skeptical? Did you not actually understand the content of my above posts?

oh yeah as a side note the tests were done on a Sata II port which is why the speeds are so low.
I'm not sure if that ties into this at all but it is worth mentioning.

I think SATA II has some signal limitations compared to III which hurts latency and maybe iops
