u said it effected everything.. all bclk is, is this number...

nowadays the only other thing bclk rly effects is ram.. but man dram multipliers are very small these days compared to cpu multipliers so you aren't going to increase your cpu by 1000mhz via bclk and see anywhere near that kind of increase in dram speeds... so u don't need the big dick extreme dominator platinum pro to bclk oc..

i assume we are still talking about ocing the i5-8400, right? so this is relevant info...

So you want us to spend money on a z370 mobo for a 8400 CPU, that cannot be overclocked?

Not happening. I changed my mind, fuck coffee lake.

Pathetic

Not hyped anymore

Quote (JohnMiller92 @ Oct 6 2017 12:34pm)
Yeah because bclk OC is such an overclock... Holy shit rofl you really do have no idea what you're talking about

Quote (JohnMiller92 @ Oct 6 2017 12:58pm)
I don't want to BLCK because multiplier oc is much better for the system

ty very much

Quote (yupitsmeh @ Oct 6 2017 01:06pm)
do you know what cpu/bclk strap is? lol

it is still a oc

Quote (JohnMiller92 @ Oct 6 2017 01:38pm)
but but.. yupitsmeh told me we can achieve the same overclock this way as compared to a multiplier oc!

Quote (yupitsmeh @ Oct 6 2017 01:39pm)
You can get pretty descent results

And many extreme ocers use it for every little bit

Quote (JohnMiller92 @ Oct 7 2017 01:13am)
8400, is all it takes

smashes everything for price:perf

https://forum.level1techs.com/t/exploring-the-price-performance-advantage-of-bclk-overclocking-on-locked-coffee-lake-cpus/120099

and this guy did a bclk on it too. price:perf is nuts (even with the z370 mobos only out)

when the cheaper mobos are out, ryzen will be in even more trouble

fyi john if you going to overclock even locked cpu you want the phases, mce or vendor named, and vrms of a z board
