It's a dumb benchmark test, the only reason it has a good score is because of the higher clock speed, Crysis has incredibly poor multi-core usage.
But you probably knew that.
yeah apparently is a gfg gaming processor for that reason...rendering encoding etc...it suffers, it also seems to multi task well.
It was time to upgrade mobo...pretty sure RAM slot is going, and it has bad reference clock IC's, CPU cooler isn't the greatest either and DDR2 RAM costs a fortune...so I figured...wth, get a gfg mobo with a long warranty, get enough gfg RAM to last me till the steam rollers and excavators come out and hope they resolve the issue with Win 7 and multi core handling.
Hell, by the time those CPU's come out 1866 RAM will prolly be low speed. Also, I figure that with Corsair releasing a whole new series of RAM, they gonna want good reviews, so they'll prolly use the best binned IC chips on them. Also needed a new CPU cooler.
I don't really do encoding or rendering, so that's not an issue...I game occasionally and multi task a lot. And it'll be a challenge. and I still have the 955 if it doesn't work out. At $100 for a proc that can hit 5Ghz on air...wtf not.
/e It also seems to do well in memory benchmarks, and with higher res displays...really well ^^
/ee It also seems that most ppl buying this CPU are also buying the same motherboard that I am.
