I did my first Ryzen build a few weeks ago. Plugging in the PGA processor and installing the cooler was a much smoother experience than any of my Intel builds.

PGA and LGA are not the same thing.

Intel stock cooler and AMD stock cooler are not the same thing.

amd pga sockets are resilient and durable, but their cpu's are quite fragile and you need to be careful

with intel, you can drop the cpu's on tile roll them through your knuckles toss em in the air catch em they'll still work fine

however their sockets are quite delicate

overall i think amd's solution is better because a bent pin on a pga cpu is fixable a bent pin on a socket is typically gg no re and here's why:

those lga cpu socket pins need to be precisely oriented not straight but at a particular angle equal with all the rest so they have the perfect contact, you'd never be able to fix that with a credit card
pga pins just need to be straight because the socket grabs onto them when you pull the lever

I've also found lga socket pins break off easier when you try to fix them
