I'm mad at Sprint for selling me a phone that had widespread issues in the first place. So much so that I sometimes have to restart my phone 50+ times a day to get service. The guy who sold me the phone casually mentioned that this is why he upgraded to the S5. I asked him why in the hell he recommended this phone to me and he got red faced and didn't have an answer. I'm also mad at Sprint because, as the company that sells the phones, I feel like they have a responsibility to fix the issue rather than having a replacement phone with the same update sent to me over and over again. I wouldn't be so mad if I had the option to downgrade. However, with the 4.4.2, there is no option to downgrade. All the replacement phones they have come with 4.4.2. When your job requires you to be on call two weeks out of the month, I'm afraid to go to sleep sometimes in case my phone decides to not work.
I've also spoken to three separate "executive assistants." The first one told me I entered into a contract with Samsung for the upgrade and not Sprint, so they cannot help me. I told him that I have the contract directly in front of me and nowhere does it say Samsung, it says Sprint. He stopped replying to my e-mails. The second guy told me I had to replace the phone 4 times before they would give me an equivalent. I asked him what the equivalent was and he said an S3 or an iPhone 4, both refurbished. The third guy wanted me to discuss this issue over the phone. I told him I wanted it over e-mail because recording the phone calls are a hassle. He said he couldn't discuss it over e-mail because of account security. Obviously that was a lie, because after I told him that if my account info was stolen, they wouldn't be able to tell over the phone OR e-mail if it was really me they were speaking to. He then agreed, and then failed to respond to my e-mail for 15 days. When I e-mailed him again asking why he suddenly stopped assisting me, he told me to use my insurance and replace the phone with the exact same one.
I've been on Sprint's customer service bad side for the past 5 months. I hate throwing empty threats at these guys/gals because I feel like a lunatic for doing so, but when I pay $80 a month for a phone, I expect some level of customer service and assistance. Especially when I pay $11 a month for insurance.
Edit: This one is what really gets me. When I was in the store waiting on the technician, a Sprint employee told a lady on the phone that she cannot unlock her phone. He said it's a very complicated process and she probably won't be able to do it. This is obviously false. Federal law now states that these companies have to unlock the phones (with exceptions). There are stipulations each wireless carrier has enacted, but you get the general gist. Once this whole mess is over with, I'm removing myself from Sprint's grasp. Unfortunately, there just really isn't a knight in shining armor when it comes to wireless carriers.
That is why I bought a GSM phone and only use monthly based plans. I'm on team mobile but it's more like team maybe. When you get 4G it's fast though.
