What gpus are best for mining atm. Ethereum or w/e. Bitcoin isn't worth mining anymore is it? So why do people mine it?

I still have 3 7970s I want to put to use.

The power efficiency on those cards are horrible. You would most likely lose on the electricity bill.

Bitcoin can only be mined with ASICS right now.

1070s are excellent mining cards. 1080s are ok but usually not worth it because of the gddr5x memory that comes with them. As for amd I am not as familiar with. However the Vega 56 flashed with 64 bios is the absolute best card to mine monero.

finally got around to messing with my mining rig :)
super glad i did too, new drivers/bios for all cards!

the one at 22 mh/s is an rx 570 that i have to mess with. should hash near the others (which are all rx 470's :drool: )

Oh btw, I ROI'd already.
Bet all mined ethereum a little while back.
Turned 1.85 into a little over 9 :)

power consumption is 1060w instead of 970 is the trade-off, which is fine.

Is that because I ROI'd?
Ethereum -> ICO -> Ethereum -> USD

$4200

scratch that $4200, i've been holding. roughly 6k now
switched the miner to mine PIRL instead of Ethereum, profitability is about the same right now, going to mine a few weeks worth (360ish coins)

if I see an up-trend forming after 3 weeks, I will continue to mine thru the breakout and sell all of it off
and switch back to ether :P

Fair enough, what makes it not worth it?
