If E-tailers start dumping 7700K's under $300 and it's still the best for gaming I might grab one to upgrade from my 6600K

thats a nice idea only if you gonna stream or do crazy multitasking or video encoding 3d work or things that require more than 4 physical cores.

i mean its nice to multi task even better with 4ht cores extra but not needed if just gaming.

do you have professional or musical or design stuff to do? hosting anything?

I do create and render videos sometimes at higher resolutions like 1440P.

Mostly the 7600k and 6600K have a known terrible stuttering issue in GTA 5 and creates huge frame dips in StarCraft 2 during large fights.

Anything but smooth fps drives me nuts. Paired with a Gtx 1080 overclocked to the brink I'll go from 144FPS to 30 randomly in cpu intensive games and it feels like a car crash.

/E And I already have a Kraken X62 in push pull ready to deal with the heat on it as well.
