Ive been doin some pretty extensive research. I am looking for the right combination of quality and price.
This is what I came up with.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=147055&CatId=3652

CNet says its the best plasma value on the market. It looks like they slimmed the side profile a little as well.

Is this the best value I could be getting you think? Its got ethernet (not sure why I need it but it has it), 1080p and its non 3D ( I have zero interest in 3D)

Seems to meet all of my needs

It is without a doubt the best value of any HDTV, with perhaps the exception of the (more expensive, higher end) Samsung PND7000.

the S30 is 2D-only version of the ST30, its ~ $50-100 cheaper so if you don't value 3D... Go for it.

is that samsung only in 50+ inch though?

This is for gaming/sports in my bed room so Im thinkin ~42 inches is just enough to not be obnoxious
Im glad you gave the 'ok' on that Panasonic though ;) Its nice to have some positive reinforcement after months of researchin :p

I see the VT and GT also. Are those only in 50+ inch models as well? :(

ok im thinking about buying a better home audio setup
i want to keep it around 500-600 ( for now)
heres what i have in mind:
receiver: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=82-115-313&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=2#scrollFullInfo
front speakers: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882290203
subwoofer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882290130&Tpk=POLKPSW505 ( is this overkill?)

so all that is around 600. I think i will get center and surround speakers later.
How would you guys change this? It is for a relatively small room.
also, would i see a big improvement coming from bose companion 3 speakers?

2x Polk Audio Monitor60C Series II Floorstanding Loudspeaker
Polk Audio CS10 Black Center
BIC America F12 12-Inch Subwoofer

I have some sony speakers for the rear.

I got the monitor60's and the center on sale.

Yes, I think so. Won't be a completely new world, (as their only cheap polks) but they should indeed sound better than Bose companions.
