Im thinking about a new ssd, cuz my 4-5 year old 830 128gb feels rather small. But hey its still running stronk
I moved my 120 gb ssd to server that was running a 15krpm cheetah and replaced it with a samsung evo 250
Was well worth upgrading for the space but the drive was still solid, and is working as we speak in server.
then switched out the VR drive for this 480 mushkin cause 1 the drive is slow and 2 I needed a bit more space.

is it worth it? thinking about doing it to my ds6.
I've done half my board so far and yes its worth it imo.
stops you from bottoming out a bit and its about 1/3 noise reduction.
plus its super ez, my sons doing his board himself. (age 11)
I would get the key cap puller its like 2$ on ebay
Also grabbed o-rings from ebay cause they were transparent and it helps not dim the leds.
tbh I'm shocked that for 1$ these o-rings are just as good as those 15$ ones my mate bought so I'm pleased.
@Lee where ever he is... cable comb worked first try no issue now I have two extra's in case you need cause your bad.
Just need to finish a few more keys and extend the ssd's partition and I'm all set.
took me a bit cause I did a thorough cleaning and other shit.
and the VR drive took a lot longer then I expected to clone.
/edit
omfg yes doom no longer takes a solid min to load now its well under 2 min.
