280s are close to the m50s on a gaming stance or somewhat soundstage

horrible positional

tested on dolby/sbx(thx)/yamaha surround/realtek

Author seems to favor more neutral sound and mostly considers studio work and music over anything else.

Still great choices. the Sony's in particular are included in most best sub-$100 headphones lists.

Just a little bump with some relevant news to this sub-forum. For those looking for high quality but ultra cheap sound setups Dayton has released a new model... the B652 Air:

review by the Audiophiliac:

http://www.cnet.com/news/dayton-b652-air-dirt-cheap-speakers-arent-supposed-to-sound-like-this/

Side by side of the old B652 ($40/pair) and the new B652 Air to the left ($60/pair)

Supposedly sounds a bit better, and only 20 bucks more.

In any case I'm not sure, but I think this is the only speaker with air motion transformer tweeter (as apposed to horn tweeter or dome tweeter) on the sub $100 market... Pretty cool.

Looks like Dayton has done it again :)

Been actually thinking of getting a 2.1 setup & throwing away this shitty 5.1 in a box i have. Pretty useless since i'm just running stereo input into it atm anyways, And the fucking quality is fisher price comparable.

Also almost bought a audeze lcd-2 last month :o prob pick up a pair this winter.
