vizio has dropped tv tuners in their new line up hence the name theater display, they cant label it tv cuz it has no tuner

and sound bars are subpar should have bought a receiver and floor stand/book shelf yes 100 more dollars but way better options to sound down the road

Point was, a TV is a device that can take either analog or digital TV broadcast signal and display it. Yours does neither. It takes raw YUV or RGB signal and displays it.

It's not like we care about whether your device is a TV or just similar hardware with a feature taken out, it's you insisting it's a TV when, in fact, it is not.

actually was thinking about grabbing 4x 55inch for video wall in my living room but then found out no tuner for local sports so kinda threw the idea on back burner

and why I pointed it out cuz many people have purchased this display or newer vizios and cant return it cuz past 14 day return period after figuring it out

That's a bummer. It's still good a manufacturer dares to transition out of the classic TV setup since not everyone needs the tuner. Too bad it's not marketed quite as clearly as it should be...

if i wanted to watch ota stuff i'd buy the tuner but it was the best option available to me and i cut cable anyway so nbd. it's a tv to me- what it can and can't legally be called doesn't bug me.
