They aren't reference cards.
The 950 Pro (m2) is the OS drive
The two 850 Pro 2TB drives are for storage.

/e ...and those monitors are so godly, that you'll just have to suffer with only 100Hz refresh rate.

Why would you skimp on a lesser OS drive? Why not have a 2TB OS drive and 2x 2TB storage drives. For a budget built it doesn't make sense not to.

Because saying you have your OS on an M.2 makes you sound cooler. Just ask shaft.

Huh ???

Equipped with the enhanced bandwidth of the NVMe interface, the 950 PRO is ideal for intensive workloads, such as computer-aided design, data analysis and engineering simulations.
It outperforms SATA SSDs by over 4.5 times in sequential read and by over 2.5 times in sequential write, delivering the speeds of 2,500 MB/s and 1,500 MB/s respectively.

/e But I did find a cooler motherboard...

Switched out the case, for a Corsair 900D as well.
So here is the final Ghot budget build...

Unfortunately, enabling G-Sync mode also brought with it some very bad gray scanlines on the entire screen. Very visible in most games with a bright background. This was seen when overclocked and running at the native 60Hz. Turning off G-Sync "fixed" it, but then what's the point of owning a G-sync monitor? There was some very noticeable Back Light Bleed in all four corners of monitor, quite visible on dark backgrounds. Some recent AAA games (Fallout 4 for example) still don't have proper support for the 21:9 aspect ratio, forcing you to find hack and mods to properly play games.

Who knows. It's not like you can even use one ultrawide effectively at the moment. Still want an ultrawide though.
