is the pin configuration the same as the geforce rtx 2080 super? will this new card work for my mobo ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XII FORMULA?

I run a GTX 1070 and honestly feel that it does just fine.
I dont see a point in buying either of these cards at this point in time.

Called 2-8k gaming and wanting 240+ fps

4k Gaming is not even truly standard yet though.
And while frame rates are nice, especially in those FPS games, at this time, unless your playing serious competitions, seems pointless right now.

It is just my opinion.

Not saying people who want them or buy them are dumb or anything, I just personally do not see a reason to drop that much money on something like that right now.
In a few years, absolutely.

Cpu's have halted in terms of progress yet monitors continue to go forward.
Games aren't more demanding (aside from ray tracing), these cards are needed to fill the gap.
Whether you need/want them or not is irrelevant.

Additionally there is now 360 fps monitors
