Sure they would. That's why they have different grades of filters with finer mesh than others. Some people don't mind the NEGATIVE PRESSURE CAUSED BY THE FILTERS because it leads to less dust. C'mon!

Are we also disregarding the hoards of engineers that do the R&D before they sell filters with computer cases?
Are we disregarding that if they restricted as much air flow as you seem to think...that they would burn up the fan motors?
