20" is really small. This is something you can DIY with no experience.

How so?

Unless you are wall mounting your monitor's ...20" is too small. 24" would be the smallest I would go.

No room for keyboard, mouse, monitors, speakers, drink, etc. You'd be hard pressed.

I don't know how you do it man. That would drive me insane. I'm glad it works for you though. Honestly, 30" is my sweet spot. I was going to go 30" but could only find a 36" butcher block. I don't want to cut it down so 36" is what I went with.

Seriously though, if you want a 20" desk like mine you can buy a larger butcher block and cut it down to size. Then, you would have the leftover for any other projects. For instance, after this is finished I'm going to buy another one and cut it down to make nightstands. With the extra, I'm going to make floating shelves. That way all my furniture looks the same, will last a very long time, and looks modern/minimalistic.

At the end of the year I'm going to work with a friend to design a bed frame that matches everything else. I'm definitely bringing someone else in with me to do that because my experience isn't up to par.

Incoming huge picture. This is what I'm working with right now and it's perfectly fine. Yeah I'd love bigger, but all I can do now atm is wider.

Your monitor is in your mousepad. Your screens are way close and hella bright. The lights off! HOW DO YOU DO IT? THE HORROR! THE HORROR!
