Yeah because a 45 digit password is totally needed.

my root password for my home box is 2 versus from a Shakespeare play shuffled in reverse.

Sure, if you are trying to protect missle codes.

Most people jsut need a password that isn't practicle to bruteforce, dictionary attack or is on a list of "commonly used" passwords that hackers use to compare passwords to.

Anything important enough to need a 45 character password, honeslty I wouldn't trust this device with.  Maybe others would...

you wouldn't trust the device, that doesn't mean that somebody who actually uses secure passwords that are different for every site should have to settle? This little device is about being able to be as secure as you should be and making it very simple/accessible to do so. You don't have to like it, or trust it, but saying this thing is pointless is completely short sighted.

Mine is a series of random numbers and letters which I memorized, along with all of my other important account information.

i wouldnt trust this device at all. it probably wouldnt be hard to hijack the passwords once the device is mounted and if you had it locally you can most likely just pop the flash chip out of the "secure" case and plug it in anyways.

the thing erases itself if you try to access the AES256 encrypted data too many times.

I would easily say yes, 45 char password is absolutely needed, and I would advise anybody that has the ability to, to use a password as secure as possible.

No, I haven't, but I think it's a terrific idea, an innovative product, and if it lives up to what it promises I will own one, and give them to friends and family.

/e I'm a security minded person, who understands how useful something like this is, and how important security is in the age we live in.
