oic its for your ps3. imo, sell the mixamp. ive used my hd 598 on my ps3 without the mixamp. you need a male rca to female 3.5mm adapter. thats it. it was less than $10 iirc.
the only important function difference between the mixamp and the adapter is that the adapter wont have volume control, but you can do that in the ps3/game settings
