Keep in mind, for the most part I haven't been a frequent contributor to this sub section for a long time. Haha.

Just ordered 2 of these to put in top of hutch right behind monitor...the DELL Ultrasharp U3011 has a lotta warm air coming out the top vents ^^

http://www.acinfinity.com/quiet-cabinet-fans/dual-kits/ac-infinity-quiet-cabinet-fan-kit-dual-120-black/

http://www.amazon.com/AC-Infinity-AI-CFD120BA-Cabinet-Amplifier/dp/B009CO543S/ref=pdsimpc3

The monitor when FULLY lowered....fits in the Hutch (as is) with 1/2' to spare...too much heat comes off top of monitor, so...

The dual 120mm fan sets, move 104 cfm of air @ 26 dBa, run off USB or wall outlet, come with filters, can be daisy chained...and I will alter the fan sets to blow OUT instead of IN.

/edit On my current desktop....the monitor is exactly the right height...but it's 3.75 inches up on a monitor platform....so when I get the new desktop it will be too low. By moving the shelf up I can raise the monitor to same height it is now ...win, win :D

why would you need to alter the fans. just reverse the way you mount them so they blow out.

coz they are only pretty on one side, and I don't want 280 cfm of air blowing INTO the monitors heat exhaust vents...or around the monitor at my face :)

This is what they look like on the back side....

/edit Fan specs...

exactly...I thought about doing it both ways....just seems smarter to have them exhausting out off the Hutch. If I leave them as intakes...that amount of airflow will prevent the monitors heat from being able to escape from it's chassis.

/e If not for that fact I would definitely have them as intakes, since I smoke at the comp...as intakes they would keep the smoke away from monitor ...it's a trade off that I think is worth it. I also ordered (the other day) a six pack of monitor wipes (70 count...each).

/ee Btw, those cabinet fans come in singles or doubles...and 1 AC outlet or one USB port can drive up to 4 fans.... (2x doubles, 2x single and a double, or 4x single)...they also come is Black or Silver finish.

When it's done it should look something like this...with about 4 inches more room for the monitor height, than I had before (which was about .5 inches)

/edit Pretty good for Paintshop Pro 7.04....eh :D
