Pfft :D

I pay for 50/25 and get... 58/40. SO, if I were to pay for 500/100 I would get ~580/160 :)

500/100? WEAAAKKKKKKKK

I used a different test server. None of these can handle my upsteam bandwidth. (this is a 1000/1000 line)

Code
abduct@lolcats ~ $ ./speedtest-cli --server 1666
Retrieving speedtest.net configuration...
Retrieving speedtest.net server list...
Testing from server ()...
Hosted by OneSource Communications (Keller, TX) [38.84 km]: 27.657 ms

Friend wanted to upgrade it to 10 gigabits per second but he'd have to get some custom hardware and new lines pulled to the server.

Yeah, but the price ^^

...and FIOS can do that now, they just don't offer it to residential...yet :D

/e ...and honestly, I haven't found the need for more than 50/25 so far. Verizon has been trying to get me to upgrade to 75/35 for $14 more a month. I told them until website stop capping DL speeds, 50/25 is more than enough :)

My buddy works at the data center so he gets a pretty hefty discount on everything. And of course me being me, I get to use it for free.

I need to buy some terabyte hard drives for it though, I'm getting low on space for my anime.
