Just ordered it for a Christmas present for my bro-inlaw.

Kabar mark1

I like heavy knives. Got full-size myself, with kraton handle. Hacks down smaller trees, 10-15cm diameter, pretty well with some effort. Wouldn't trade it for a smaller/lighter one for in service use.

Not sure about SOG quality - I guess till they are sharp, they work but it does seem rather light one, what was blade length?

6" Blade, Think its just under 12 inches total.

I assure you.. Its not light.

It's 1/4" steel all the way from the end of the handle, To nearly the tip of the knife. Weighs 10.5 oz.

Sharpened it when i got it a year ago, Havent needed to re-sharpen it yet. Still shaves hair :)

Okay, looks kind of small without comparison. Then it is nearly same as full-size Ka-bar, being inch shorter at blade and little lighter. Nice one, how much was it? Oh, and how much you paid for Mk1? :)

I like light knives. I don't need a paper weight with an edge. I still am looking for that Jim Bowie knife I want. One day I'll find the one. That perfect one that says yes.
