Are these as good as Cnet proclaims?

Looks to be quite the value

I dont know much about sound though.  Does that make it not worth it for me? Since I dont have a finely tuned ear for sound quality?
@119.00 these arent priced poorly at all!

They definitely are every bit as good as their review claims, imo.

Any one here has experience of SVS subs? I have been thinking on getting a sub for my system and SVS have got some good reviews on their subs, but unfortunately  none of my local stores have them so cant go and listen one. These models were what I was looking for:

http://www.svsound.com/subwoofers/sealed-box/SB13-Ultra
http://www.svsound.com/subwoofers/cylinder/pc12-plus
http://www.svsound.com/subwoofers/cylinder/pc13-ultra

From Genelec this sub looked decent as well:  http://www.genelec.com/products/7060b/

Any thoughts?

Yes absolutely! SVS' flagship PB13 Ultra is one of the best subwoofers I've heard, in any price category (they costs like $2500 in the US I think, but I've seen mint condition ones go for as little as $1200 in Norway which is an absolute high end bargain).

Haven't had the honour of listening to the subs you linked but every SVS-sub is a guaranteed success in their respective price range

I haven't been updated on current SVS subwoofers, but they were competitive against HSU subwoofers back when I researched, but this was years ago...

I'm rethinking about the sub as I talked with KEF importer and he recommended Martin Logan with my speakers. Any one have experience with Martin Logan subs?

This is the model he recommended: http://www.martinlogan.com/dynamo/index.php#dynamo1500x

Velodyne has probably been SVS nearest competitor the last few years... their flagship DD-range (i.e. DD18) has been reference for years and their lower-range products have defined most price ranges.

It appears my Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium might just have bit the dust. I am still unsure. Though this does allows opportunity to present itself in the fact that now I can try my ASUS Xonar STX and compare it. B)

I bought my exwife some a few years back, the vPulse, and they were very nice IEMs imo. I was about to buy this LG bluetooth headphone thing and then I remembered I have my FiiO Alpen E17 right here that needs some use. Perhaps some Velodyne vPulse will complement it all nicely.

nb4 Rikuo lowers the price on his DT990s even more.. QQ (I'll buy them when my school money finally comes in sheesh!)

Martin Logan makes fantastic speakers. They are what I plan on getting once I have the money to put into a good home theater setup.

Thats what I have been reading about them. Suppose I will take that Logan sub to test and take it if it sounds good.
