thought only ping mattered? guess not? gonna look into higher speed pack
as far as online gaming goes, ping is more important than throughput as long as you're getting over 1mbps up/down, you should be good. however, I don't see how your internet speed will effect your FPS in games...

actually got better but still only topping out at like 80fps in league and get lag spikes
no really. I'm a cable technician for Spectrum. modems don't just "become uncompatable with your service anymore" unless you had a docsis 2.0 modem, which you don't.
A DOCSIS 3.0 8x4 modem can do 200mbps/100mbps no problem. A single D3.0 channel can go up to about 38Mbps, so a 8x4 modem can actually theoretically do 304/152mbps, but your ISP will not let you use 100% capacity for 1. 65% is about as high as most ISPs are comfortable going to.
Wifi extenders suck, don't use them. try a mesh network instead.

setup: l my room l l room l room wifi extender here l
h a l l w a y stairs
45° angle to the right to modem/router
so yes im furthest away in the house
found the problem. you're connected to the wifi extender, which at best takes half the 2.4ghz speed (max 60-70mbps) and halves it before sending it on to your device.
My suggestion is to have the modem as central as possible, preferably on the second floor if possible, and if you have a huge house, try a 2 or 3 part Orbi instead of the wifi extender.
