I think that's the point he's making. Ray-tracing isn't gonna be as big of a boost for gaming as people think, it's gonna take a LOT of optimization on games that are already released. Titles getting released next year will probably be the first that take decent advantage of it.

Indeed. He actually didn't give any pure performance numbers. Just pure markting talking about how great this new technology is. Which might affect the performance more than it's worth. Like Physx was in most games.
Why I also said I'm not going to pre-order before seeing some real numbers. Also the new cards will be able to use NVLINK bridges, which has 50 times the bandwidth compared to SLI. If Nvidia would actually take some time creating profiles for most games, this could bring multiple cards bad in a new glory. Hopefully the new technology and higher bandwidth would make the experience smooth

Actually PhysX was fine, the game developers failed with regard to PhysX.

They probably will with ray tracing as well, though. If people keep buying idiotic cartoony games, why go to the trouble of coding games that actually use all the talents of a vid card.

2070 is prob lil faster than 1080
so for 1k uyd imagine
2080 ti would be alot more powerful
than a 1080ti
but im bald so who knows

2080ti > 2080 > 1080ti > 2070 > 1080 in gaming, calling it now.
I also feel like the 2080 won't have a good place, because the 2070 will be able to handle 4k 60hz med settings, and anyone who wants all the eye candy will just buy the 2080 ti for the extra $100.
