Since last night gave it a rest, fired it up this morning to run some Just Cause 2..

Core temps sit around 45ish average after about an hours worth of play and don't budge.

The fan wasn't popped in originally, now that its solid as fuck in there, everything seems to be alright.

Googling around my temps aren't bad. I just have a small room, higher ambient, giving me higher temps. I'm sure not having some gosu thermal paste makes a difference but until I can pick up some cooling and some paste this will have to do.

Love the computer, haven't found anything I can't run @ 8x/16x highest

Good paste is going to drop the temps to about 40-42 on your system. It'll be more apparent at full load.

Even running games the things at a ridiculously low load - is that just because this processor is gosu? games are like smooth as glass regardless of how much movement or carnage

Good processor, memory, gpu. The cpu is only going to hit high temps on cpu intensive games. Most of the time you're going to have super low temps.

This thing's epic, anyone use PS3 controllers on W7x64?

I used my ps3 controllers on my laptop for emulators, but wouldn't mind having a ps3 controller for like NBA2k11 etc

Anyone used a guide that's sure-fire and do this?

The drivers for ps3 and 360 are sometimes finicky. Ghot will recommend a few programs he's heard of.

Could it be that my heat sink fan isn't tight enough against the chip?

The way it mounts is really fucked, and i've found it hard to get it tight on the motherboard....

I'm worried it may not be making even contact with the chip and therefore not cooling it correctly
