Any links?

http://www.genelec.com/products/g-two/ G series Two should be around your price range for a pair. Dont know what stores have those in US but I suppose you could email them and ask? If you want to add a sub then you can go with G series One. Genelec is something I would consider for stereo/2.1 at that price range.

Thanks for link. Its $800 just for the speakers themselves. The sub is another $800. Quite a bit out of my budget.

If you have possibility its worth to listen G Two's without a sub if it would be enough for you. And I imagine sub + G One's are around 1200 then ? Or was it 800 for just G One's?

edit: and if you like the sound of G Two's you can first buy one pair of them and add sub later when you can afford it if they are not enough alone. :)

Are these as good as Cnet proclaims?

Looks to be quite the value

I dont know much about sound though. Does that make it not worth it for me? Since I dont have a finely tuned ear for sound quality?
@119.00 these arent priced poorly at all!

Any one here has experience of SVS subs? I have been thinking on getting a sub for my system and SVS have got some good reviews on their subs, but unfortunately none of my local stores have them so cant go and listen one. These models were what I was looking for:

http://www.svsound.com/subwoofers/cylinder/pc12-plus

From Genelec this sub looked decent as well: http://www.genelec.com/products/7060b/

Any thoughts?

I was wondering if anyone could help me with purchasing a portable music player and a set of IEM's to go with it. I normally only ever listen to music at home but that's not the case anymore and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

Sansa Zip clip is a popular choice for a player.

Takes Micro-sd up to 64gb & Played .Flac

Can get one for around $30 + Cost of the sd card.

Now if you're talking going all out, Fiio x3 is a good amp/dac/player combo.

Typically helps if you put a price range / etc.

Uhh, I'm guessing the budget can be anywhere from $100-$200. For both the player as well as the IEM. I can do a little more but ~250 is my max.

Replied to your PM, but for like $50ish, the Clip Zip is probably the best, for $200 the FiiO X3 + 64GB Micro SD + Optical Cable is hands down the best thing you can get

Other good ones in the 250 range are the iBasso DX50, though they're out of stock atm, and an iPod Classic if you can Rockbox it.

Another good option is getting an older iPod 5/5.5 gen and replacing the HDD with a larger HDD/SSD, as the 5/5.5 gens have a very good wolfson DAC, and you'd have access to Rockbox + a larger capacity than most other players

Of course, your headphones play a part into it, as in whether or not they're able to be powered by a DAP etc

I just ordered an X3, so I'll be giving it a bit of a self-test myself, and I only use JH11 IEMs, which the X3 can power very very easily

M50s are super popular, but I think they suffer a bit from FOTM (or FotF in this case) syndrome

If you're looking for a good pair of closed portables, the Sennheiser Amperiors have been selling regularly for 120-130, or if you want full On Ear you can get like the 548s (I think that's the model) for around similar pricing

Just depends what you're looking for and what kinda sound etc
