So i did some more tweaking. I first tweaked my gpu boost in gpu z to be 1400, but it was actually boosting to 1500 while benching....so i was unstable even with max power/voltage.
cranked it down to 1352 and it was running about 1410 and below - still only achieve 4100.
maybe im slightly unstable or something, but even without instability, my scores are a good 10% lower than yours, so not sure whats going on.

my i7 4790k is at 4.5ghz

I thought maybe your i7 was doing something...but my cpu usage only sits at 40%, so i kind of thought otherwise.
oh well, im upgrading to polaris flagship or pascal flagship whenever that is, so not gona lose sleep over it.

polaris is gonna be a crappy midway, if you're going amd wait til vega which is at the beginning of next year
your 980ti is fine, why are you upgrading?

usage doesn't matter, if it's faster it's faster. mine could be at 40% like yours and be faster because mine's at 4.5ghz and not 3.5ghz etc

Oh, right but mine is overclocked to 4.4 ghz, so i assumed the only way it would be faster is if hyperthreading is doing something, which i wouldnt think it was. :E
As for upgrading...because that's just what I do now. lol. you guys started me on this dark path a few years ago and now i just like to keep modern hardware, at least insofar as it enhances my performance significantly.

actually ijust checked it with fire strike and for some reason my settings went back to stock....so i fixed it and am now getting the right score, around 4250
