Seeing an FX-8350 on Windows XP makes me a little sad at the lost potential. Even Windows 7 needs some hot-fixes to get the most out of it.

Unless you are just running 7 with the visuals turned off.

Well apparently, any type of stone surface for use as a desktop surface, is out of the question...I got a quote on a 68" x 24" polished slab of Black Pearl Granite....and it was just shy of $1200...considering that most of the polishing, edge rolling and corner radiusing is done by CNC mills adapted for stone...$1200 seems a tad high to me :/

Naw if I'm going to go with granite, I want solid granite....I'm getting quotes on very dark glass at checking into very large widths of exotic hardwoods, at this time....if either or both of those prove too expensive...then I'll probably just order a Steel Case desk, used or liquidated.
