Negative. They will credit check you on phones, utilities etc.

How much do you have charged to your cards?

Negative on what? And yeah, they will do that if you buy into a phone contract and stuff, I didn't list everything. I just listed the bigger stuff that requires a high credit rating.

Right now I've got like $800 charged to my cards (have 5 credit cards total) which isn't very high at all considering the total sum of the credit limits on all cards.

Total? That's not too bad but 5 cards?.. that looks horrible on your end.

And you can have an 850 and still get denied due to DEBT to income.

Score means nothing.

29% or less in TOTAL credit limit is what you want.
It's actually better to have several open credit accounts rather than one or two.

Sounds like you have a strong understanding of credit.

I find it ridiculous that people go into full detail about what they think they know when they're probably in the same boat as everyone else.

Maybe even worse.

It's not about thinking. It's about knowing. I've gone thru a period were I did have a few open credit lines just to get by and then my shit tanked. When creditors start seeing 3-4+ credit lines open it makes them wonder if they are going to get paid. I.E, living outside your means.

Robert is right, 30% or less is what builds credit.

Edit: Im at a 755 which is good for someone in my age bracket, but I can still get denied for a car loan if it exceeds my income.

Edit 2: First board imo.

Takes like 6 months after your first card, To get your first credit score.

Depends on how you use the card / Pay it off / balance / etc.

Some of those cards are joint cards that I'm an added user on. My bf is the primary card holder on those so no hard pull on my credit required for them.

I pretty much keep my credit card debt proportional to my income so I keep it under a certain amount.

And I'm aware that you obviously shouldn't have too much debt in proportion to income.

That's not to say things were perfect when I got my first card as a college student at 18, I went through the typical mistakes with spending credit most people do at that age. But I've learned from my mistakes, developed better responsibility, have good credit and understand of how things work.

Credit karma has me at 788 and FICO at 774.

That first pay may be so as the pulling but if he decides to say fuck it YOLO then you can get dinged for that if you're a co-borrower.

Those are good scores I won't deny that. My whole point was score means nothing.

Good talk tho
