they hate citrus as it burs there nostrils.
put lemon juice/water in spray bottle spray down anything you don't want cat near.
or rub shit down the the zest of a lemon/orange.

we actually got some stuff that was citrus smelling at least that was supposed to deter cats. we used it on the christmas tree. needless to say we bought a new tree this year. lol
I might just find something to wrap the cables in. I don't want to have to constantly spray something on stuff and hope it is strong enough to keep them away.

Give them something to play with. They must be young and bored. Give them old cables, wires, string, rope, and more. Make it so they always have something they like. Some cats like the tag off the milk carton. Some like lace. A few like Marijuana. They all love sunshine and stratching things. Rolling is a common activity. Learn to read your cats body language. Also follow the eyes. Cats speak with their body language and eyes. They only meow to humans and to their mothers when they're little. So make a good example you alpha cat.

they are just jerks. most of the time they only chew on stuff if we go somewhere over night. they have a ton of different toys and they do actually play with them quite a bit. they are 3 and 4 years old so not kittens anymore. the one is extremely lazy and has been overweight since we got him and he normally just lays around. the other is a little more adventurous.

was hoping someone had some sort of a wrap solution. don't want to spray liquids and stuff all over my cables so they get all nasty only for it to loss its effectiveness a few days later and then have the cat chew threw it anyways.

they have been getting better about it, but I feel like they mostly do it when we are gone for an extended period of time. so not much that can be done... aside from my wife actually putting things away but that won't happen.

So house caught on fire, insurance company hires restoration services for stuff they think they can salvage. They were supposed to be done last Friday but they regularly haven't been showing up. Well today we get a phone call asking if we've been in the house we say no of course we haven't because we were told not to touch anything. Someone broke in and went through all the stuff the restoration company was boxing up and stole the expensive stuff that made it through the fire.

We drive by our house regularly and randomly check the lock just to make sure. Funny thing is they basically just boxed everything and let it sit there for two weeks and are acting super surprised that someone broke in and stole a bunch of stuff.

If you guys knew how much that restoration company literally just didn't show up or sent 2 people out for 2 hours its super funny at this point.

My tale of WOE from today...

http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=73821074&f=28

Ok...I knew D2JSP went down, about 11:30 AM eastern time. I went to www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com ....and it said JSP was down. Ok, I thought shyt happens...no problem.
So I was shoveling snow and helping the neighbors with a few things, then came back and took an old man nap. All still OK.

Woke up from nap and went to JSP, surprise...no JSP. Went back to www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com ...and checked and it said JSP was UP!! I was like hmmm. So I called a guy in Tennessee and asked if he could get on JSP, and he did on his smart phone. But it was a Verizon smart phone. So I called another friend in Arkansas, and asked him to check, since he was NOT on any kind of Verizon internet.
He said: No, the site works for me no problem.

Ofc, I couldn't see the pic and the link above, because I couldn't get on JSP. Anyways...called Verizon tech support and asked what was going on...I could get on every site on the planet except JSP.

So I figured maybe it was a Firefox issue, so I installed Chrome....still couldn't get on JSP. So I called Verizon tech support and explained the problem...nothing they did helped, until they got super serious. I could here like 5-10 techs all trying to figure out the problem. So, they had me download a remote access program and then all the techs started doing all this weird Network troubleshooting.

After about 30 mins with some secret Verizon tools they managed to get JSP up, but only to the very front page. They were still troubleshooting and discussing what could be the problem, when I noticed the note from Njaguar in the pic above.

I said, I found the problem. Since we were both seeing my screen I showed them the note from Njaguar.

Apparently, the changes made when moving the JSP data center hadn't propagated to the Verizon DNS servers....yet.

After that it was easy, just changed to the Google DNS server and JSP came right up, no problems.

I could here them actually cheering in the background. :D

LOL, no they were actually in to it, with a vengeance. I had told them that I had called 2 friends and THEY could get on...but I couldn't.

It seemed like the 1st time they had something fun to troubleshoot, instead of just the normal crap. :)

/e I could hear them in the background...

Wow, good thing he has a big screen....and things like no, let me have to mouse. Laughing and arguing...it's like they all came from surrounding cubicles, to see what was going on. It was great. :)
I guess after a while simple problems become boring. Like: My internet doesn't work, after I went to this prOn site, what do I do etc.

They're probably all sitting around drinking coffee and eating donuts and patting themselves on the back. It was like a party. :D

/ee I bet they're all running around updating their DNS servers now. :)

At first yeah, I was like wtf. But as the troubleshooting progressed, it was kinda fun...especially hearing them all talking back and forth etc, on Verizons end. :)
