I usually buy them to support smaller bands, though. Signed/limited edition CDs and vinyls are my weakness.

Ive heard CDs are still best for music quality because of over sampling or some shit.
I have no idea, just what I've heard. Is that still true or ever was at one time?

Vinyl is actually better for sound quality than CD. CD and correctly converted flac should be same quality.
