it shouldn't matter though, a 4790k vs 5930k @ 4.5ghz performs about the same in benchmarks like these unless they're tailored to use every thread which is unlikely.

ye i guarantee your 980s on my 4790k would garner like 2x+ the fps vs your 2500k

and it shouldn't be *that* bad, but it is. weird.

z97 ran a before & after benchmark

stock clocks vs 4.6~ 4960k on sli 980's

both his scores (with his gpu @ stock) Were better than my best score, with my 980's oc'd to 1.6ghz lol

by like 3k :/

Just finished a good few hours of overclocking and tinkering on my new EVGA GTX 980 Ti (single card).

5930K @ 4.5 GHz --- EVGA GTX 980 Ti. Core 1535 MHz / Memory 2053 MHz (GPU-Z). Using Sheyster's BIOS for higher power target (425w > 350w) and fixed voltage, and watercooling using Titan X waterblock from EKWB.

Pushed the card a little further, it appears Google Chrome's hardware acceleration was holding my overclocks back somehow.... Sigh...

5930K @ 4.5 GHz --- EVGA GTX 980 Ti. Core 1574 MHz / Memory 2053 MHz (GPU-Z) ( 8212 MHz effective)

And Firestrike Extreme score should that be of interest: http://i.imgur.com/OwGwJGd.png

You win battleship

I5 couldn't handle the sli 980s that great

This is a comparison between a 4.6 GHz 4690k and a stock clock 4790k

BTW THIS 4790k RUNS like a freaking furnace, need to redo thermal and see if it helps but these fans are cranked hard
