Mainly this: Blue and Green are just cheaper slower, shorter longevity, than the Blacks. The RED's are mainly for NAS storage or RAID...slow, but dependable, Purple, who knows.

/e The "ENTERPRISE" drive of choice is the RE series. No that's not a typo...the RE is a Black with same warranty but rated for 24/7/365 ops. They cost about $25 more than the Blacks.
