Why the fuck even bother, just give each other the same amount of money and be done with it. Or better yet, don't even exchange gifts at all.

Well, Christmas is for giving so why not? Theoretically it would be just same to give same amount of money for each other or just keep the money yourself but many people like the feeling of giving / receiving.

Anyone have any experience with Synology NAS systems?

Tempted to get one so I can connect it, via a DAC, to my hifi. That way don't need to always have my PC hooked up to the amp.

I dont know what exact NAS system you have been looking for but if you are looking for NAS file storage option I would go with Lacie. http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?id=10584

I specifically mention the Synology one because you can use it to play music, it's not just a storage drive.
