Point still is... the WD 2TB My Book has a 2 year warranty.

Ok, so the RE drive has a 5year warranty...what about the drive enclosure? I can't find ANY warranty on that. :/

I will admit i had one defected one but they replaced it super fast advance shipped and paid for return shipping.
just make sure you have a newegg acc and don't use teh guest check out otherwise you have to pay upfront.

That would be a 30 day return. That company doesn't even have a western hemisphere office.
An enclosure that does have a wh office will cost more...so the benefit goes down.


IMO, the best option for the OP is still the My Book.

can return to newegg. if case fails later down road its 20$ or wait 30 days.
and you won't lose ur data where as a drive sent to WD does not GET back up by them and opening it voids warranty
