When Nvidia claimed "stock setup" they were referring to the hardware....NOT the fan control software.

So stock core clock @ 82c (Even if its only at 50% fan)

Is magically going to drop 15c when you overclock it roughly 25%?

Sounds legit.

You'd have to turn the fan up to like 180%

you should see my 980ti, turned my fan up to 300% and now it runs at -10c

In the live presentation, Nvidia wasn't running a benchmark. They were just running a compiled image to show the detail the card was capable of.

Are you on drugs?

The Anandtech bench of Crysis 3 was a benchmark. You have Nvidia cards, you know they come with the fans set to approx. 30%, out of the box.

They were running Doom & rendering HD characters from a game.

Yeah, the 67C came from rendering characters.

/e ...and they were most likely running the fan, higher than the default.

Point is, that it's no hotter than the 700 or 900 series, under load. W/e they were doing with the fan speeds.

/ee Woot! Andandtech has started compiling the GPU 2016 benchmarks...

I'm not disputing that fact.

The point we were trying to make, Is nvidia seems to have stretched the truth by saying it can OC to 2.1ghz & run at 'just 67c'

When I watched the Nvidia presentation...all I saw was them showing the temp (overclocked), when they were rendering a character.

But all that is kinda useless to argue about, since we don't have a "copy" of the presentation.

We DO have this, and it excites me...

Ghot, is there proof of them on stage overclocking the card on air?

Also, 82c more than likely is a stock curve. 100% would yield ~10-12c change on that style of fan depending ambient temps.

All I remember is they showed the card OC'd to 2+Ghz, when rendering that character with a 67C GPU temp in the upper left hand corner.
I don't remember seeing any temps or core speed when showing the Doom game play.

I was 100% sober at the time. :)
