598 is decent phone aswell, but 600 sounds much better in my ear.

Well, I myself was looking for headphones in price range 200-400 and listened pretty much all in that price range. 598 is 200 here and 600 is 330. And I can say that 598 sounds better than some other 300-400 price range phones. You cant just look at price and think it must also sound better. Anyways I wasn't directly comparing 598 vs 600, just pointed out that it was decent in my opinion. I have also heard some people prefer 598 over 600 as every one prefer different sounds. 598 is a good phone for its price.

If you want to think that way. Was just pointing out that I took 598 in consideration but ended up with 600. Was close with 600 and 650 as they only have 40€ price difference but ended up with 600 as they have more neutral sound than 650.

what amp/s and dac/s are you using atm? I have been slowly working my way up to the 200 range on headphones, currently own, 280s m50,xpt100(clones), htf6000s, hd681s, xb600, hd201, h419, h429, cals, ad700s, few headsets too

sound cards I currently own are just the recon and zxr, have owned dgx, dx both gave interference with sli

amps o2 and bravo own both currently collecting dust prolly should do something with them

At the beginning I will go with my Marantz SR6007 and if I'm not satisfied with it I will be doing some research/listening with hp amps and decide then if its worth to put some money on hp amp/dac. Not planning to connect computer on my setup tho.

Bought a 5' Cable upgrade for my Q701


Might take them apart and re-wire them internally too.

Sennheiser HD 600 arrived, now need to wait 4 hours to get home to start burning them in.

Now after couple of hours they sound amazing with my Marantz SR6007! Much better than at store with headphone amp (was some around 1000 headphone amp, dont remember the brand tho) and expecting them to get better with around 100 hours of listening.
