:( but all that extra fov.

all that extra fov might be nice racing/space games, but for 1st or 3rd person games its not gonna make any difference i'd say, u wont be able to spot that guy on the edge of ur screen anyway..
and for RPG/MMO its just weird having all that screen on the side and not up and down, as the isometric pov was made for 4:3 screens pretty much

also that resolution 3440x1440 is not that far from 4k, which means u are pretty much looking at 60fps gaming on newer titles (depending on ur system) while older titles might not even support that resolution

yes it makes huge difference
in fps shooters I dont need to completely turn to check a corner
3rd person same thing pretty much you get to see more around

look at screen shot comparison and how the middle stays the same and sides eventually fisheye many games do this with eyefinity/surround

depends on the game ofc, but since u linked to a shooter, where crosshair placement is really important, u need to focus on the middle of ur screen where u crosshair is, i'd say its actually better to turn ingame and have that aim ready then it is looking around ur big fat screen

anyways those ss is a pretty bad example, since u only see more wall, not really useful in any way

ofc you need focus on mid area mainly but you get to use your peripheral vision and turning in game isnt always better because you also need to focus whats in front of you also
not everyone is corner campers
I'd rather be more immersed hence why I use vss also

and if you want more examples just look at other games like battlefield 3 http://www.wsgf.org/dr/battlefield-3

or crysis http://www.wsgf.org/dr/crysis

Mordhau uses vertical FOV not horizontal FOV. This makes ultrawides more useful and they fisheye less.
