Well I would call LG again. Ask them how long till the next update. If it isn't in a couple days, you intend to return the TV. See what they say.

they told me the guarantee doesnt cover software failure like this and that i shall wait. cant return it becasue my 14 days are way over :S

thinking about ordering the same modell again and returning the faulty one. doubt theyll notice lel

There's no way to force through same firmware or anything?

I know certain tv's you can use flash drives and get to admin settings and reapply it, it sucks really bad but it's possible.

i did. in a different way but i did. i hooked my pc to the tv for emulators (n64/ps2/snes/etc)

it works pretty well unless you need reactive gameplay. the delay is noticeable. if i had to guess its above 50ms but definitely way worse than a pc monitor.

the colors are awesome tho. i am still pretty happy with the colors and depth BUT the stuttering currently makes me hate it.

dont really see the sense of a sony. they use lg panels so the extra cost is their OS and the brand name. might be wrong about it but i dont really like companies that buy panels from other companies and act like its their product even if the panel is like 90% of the product lol.

well unless you are 500 years old and your eyes are super bad a 55" should be way too big for work purposes. not too sure about ultra wide but it sounds interesting.

I have a 40” 4k tv using as monitor and it’s just about right with no scaling. I think 55” 4k would be ok if I mounted it on the wall so it’d be a litttle further away

ok im really mad right now. yesterday the tv asked me if it should update its firmware to newest. being a windows sheep since decades i said yes pls.

since the update the picture is stuttering, watching sports is a no go. the ball draws a smudgy line and stutters. watching normal tv is like a old cartoon with like 1 fps. horrible.

lq support says i should wait for new update. i actually want a new device or a fw downgrade or whatever. not gonna wait months like this. fuck it.

There were a lot of issues with my Samsung firmware update so I learned the hard way not to update TVs right away too. They released another update which fixed the issues they caused pretty quick though. Now I always wait to do those updates

i use my phone alot in the dark before i go to bed
on iphone 7 there's a lot of backlight glare, but iphone x it's true black and no backlight bleed

r u gonna
make me go bald

You can make a 7 really dark by turning on the low light filter in settings. That’s what I do at night since otherwise like you said there’s a glare
