Because it's designed for a very specific cable design to nest into it? That's the same reason but to a lesser extent why I would be careful buying a new cable for the quickfire... im not sure what point you're trying to make anymore

Just implied your g700 would be at a disadvantage with any other cable than one that nests in there and reinforces the mini usb port, which is what the cable that's made for that mouse does with the design...

The g700 cable is designed to fit into the mouse in such a way that side to side stress on the actual port is reduced, using that cable on any other device does not benefit from that aspect of the cable, and using any other cable on the mouse foregoes those benefits as well.

Is that more understandable? I never said you couldn't use it for the quickfire

On the kb that is a secondary purpose though, no directional pressure on the connection whatsoever, it's all on the hollowed out bit. On the mouse that's basically the entire point of it.
