Ehhh it seems like a really scary process painting on the liquid whatever. The die or whatever has a rectangle, but the lid doesn't. What happens if you paint incorrectly and get some of that shit where it's not supposed to be?

They did tests its not so much the liquid metal that helps but the actually pressure of the IHS being directly pressed onto the die.
It tightens the gap when that silicon glue is removed and pretty much any thermal paste will be a huge improvement.
As for liquid metal moving around and shit trust me when I say theres not enough to do shit.

Yes and no.
There is going to be a increase in wear but so long as the temps are kept at reasonable levels its negligible.
Not going to explain it in detail as it would take far to long, but this is why some will report a stable oc after time is no longer stable.

I would suggest using a good tim without a curing time though for the die-IHS so avoid AS5.

Also if yoru goign for real temp drops you should lap the IHS
This is were most of the issue lies, due to the shape of the IHS, flat/concave/convex.
