I guess, if you find monopolies humorous

no not really
i think it's shitty they can't change their mount process but i think it's hilarious at the same time. brand new socket, chipset etc.
and it's the same ole "rip your cpu out of the socket any time you use arctic silver paste and have to remove your cooler" shit

they can't change it which sucks but looking at that same old socket and mounting process made me laugh since the board looks way nicer in general. just a huge eyesore

as a consumer that isn't my responsibility
the best mount system possible is something like intel's, sans the fact you have to remove the entire mount system to do something intricate like ln2 cooling which isn't common, nor is it a big deal for those taking the time to do ln2 cooling

amd's isn't that bad but the fact you can still rip the cpu out of the socket by taking off your cooler in this day/age with locking mechanisms like intel has, is stupid. there's got to be an easier/better solution.

I been running AMD CPUs since 2003-ish...5-6 diff motherboards. Never ripped a CPU out. :/

Done it once, but it wasn't AS5 and it was old thermal paste

I use this. It never hardens, needs no curing time, and works within one degree of AS5.

It's not your responsibility. Still, you could be the one that comes up with a million dollar idea.

why not just run a stress test before to loosen up the thermal compound?
