Dumb fucks at ncix are trying to tell me the 5 second clunk is normal and that blacks never spin down. They offered me a green replacement drive but I got them to give me another black.

There's no reason for the heads to be even moving while the drive isn't even allocated or mounted let alone every 5 seconds.

These techs are dumb.

Unfortunately, I can't hear my Blacks, over the fans and CPU cooler. :/

Put your finger on your drive. Can you feel a clunk every 5 seconds? It should be fairly noticeable over the spinning of the platters.

Let me also say they the tech said blacks never spin down because they are performance drives.

If the drive spins at 100% even when idle they are going to over heat.

i had a very good experience with ncix. bought a whole computer from them no issues.
