wow thanks its $40, a bit expensive, but seems worth it. much cheaper than the desk ghot suggested lol. but still ghot did try to point me in the right direction. even though everything ghot ever suggests is really expensive lol.

is that big enough for you to place a full sized keyboard and a regular mousepad on it? and its a comfortable fit?

and thanks yupitsmeh, i have a better idea of what ur talking about with that photo. except im still a bit lost on what type of spacer to buy, and how to attach the spacer? and do you just slide the nuts around the spacer? or glue them or what ? and not sure what a washer would do in this situation? also seems interesting. and probably would be under $40 for all of those parts. so its cheap enough. id assume i just need a wrench to do all of that work?

Just put spacers and/or nuts like in the pic with longer bolts those huge washers are for more stability
Raised a chair like 6 to 8inches with Spacers before
Needed 2 inches on that serta chair in pic

Serta chair fix was like 5 bucks

Other one was like 15

Hope makes sense cuz my phone typing other words lol

Here....

Without the 2 x 8, imagine the bracket twisting clockwise and the chair base twisting counter-clockwise.
In a situation like that, because the bolts pass through 4 holes in the 2 x 8...they can't twist / tilt, because all 4 holes in the 2 x 8 are fixed in one block of wood.

also guys i weigh 160 to 165 lbs.... i dont really ever just jump onto my chair.

i use an apple touchpad / bluetooth keyboard without numpad at work so it's not a problem. but here's a pic at home with my g110 keyboard and g700 mouse. while it could technically fit, there's no mobility for the mouse next to the keyboard so i stick the keyboard out a little bit.

Friend walks in room while he's computing, and says here's a beer ...catch...he spins...the bolts twist/tilt and rip out of the chair base.

/e Sorry, I never did 3D modeling, so I can't draw what I mean...very easily. :(

Well I could with a pencil, but not with a computer. :/

/ee @OP, that's not the right formula.

ok thanks. i dont have those g 1 to g12 keys but i do have a num pad, i have a regular sized keyboard, so i would assume my keyboard is a bit smaller than yours. and it would be a bit of a tight fit. so gaming may be a bit difficult lol. but otherwise it seems like the easiest option, just buy it and use it. and it looks like the best option for a desk, fairly priced and seems nice. although im still considering the cheaper option that yupitsmeh is talking about. because then its cheaper, i wont have to deal with a bulky desk lol. hmmm

Imagine two 4" x 4" metal plates, with holes in all four corners, and say 3 " bolts between the two plates. You twist one plate clockwise and the other counter-clockwise. The bolts will twist and TILT, in sort of a spiral.

The 2 x 8 in between, with 4 holes to match where the bolts are, won't let the bolts...TILT, because they will be passing thru 1.5" of material. So even if he spins the chair too fast..the bolts can't TILT because of the 2 x 8....so they can't exert undo force on the chair base.

/e Ppl spin...in swivel chairs.

/ee Nupper was half right. he said use 2 pieces of 2x4. That will help a little. One piece of 2x8 will prevent the bolts from pulling out of the chair base, no matter how hard the person swivels.
He will still need to use the spacers as well...to get the height.

Ok for starters What the fuck someone doing in that chair to even do that lol
And that would rip the bolts out even without spacing material
What do you think those Spacers are week?
