Ok, Folding seems to be like this...

If you have Intel CPU and AMD GPU...run just the CPU.
If You have AMD CPU and nVidia GPU run just the GPU.


Folding is just number crunching...no AMD vid card will outdo an Nvidia card at number crunching...and no AMD CPU will out do an Intel CPU at number crunching.

IF, you can get them BOTH to run at same time...w/e brands you have...then you'll get a higher score etc. But watch the temps, especially for the CPU....this Program seems to CHOOSE the CPU and GPU by default...it's up to YOU, to decide which works best for you.


/e Also, if you run both CPU and GPU at same time, it will give you TWO projects instead of one. Currently I was assigned Project 8054 (GPU only), your Project(s) may not be the same, and the time to complete will vary as well, depending on the Project you get assigned. The build that will probably score the highest is an Intel CPU and an Nvidia GPU.

Welp according to this doohickythingamajig, its going to take a whole day to do this unit but, I got about 4 lappys and 2 more towers I'm going to throw in the mix for shits. Maybe later tonight?

yeah that seems about right....my project (GPU only) is about 2.5 hours....but they actually finish faster than they say...sometimes.

P.S. Internet connection doesn't matter to Folding...all the Folding is done on YOUR comp....the only time the Internet comes into play, is Project assignment and how fast you can link to YOUR or the the TEAMS stats page.

AMD > for data farms 99% of the time

FAH uses openCL so that's the only reason nvidia is better on it

Welp I'm up to 1.09 days for the GPU, CPU hasn't given me an ETA yet.

GPU @ 47% use
CPU @ 95% use



GPU is AMD
CPU is Intel
