His card was factory OC, it most likely would have worked. But don't worry, your word is gods word, just like Ghot :D

What do you think about the fact that Furmark determines any card's highest power draw, yet the OP was not running Furmark? How much power do his GPU and CPU draw? At least southpark247 gave his estimates that were relevant.

Depends on the game he was playing. I am just saying you have done nothing but spew out shit that isn't even close to helping while acting like it will, just like Ghot.

I was spewing real numbers from sites that do nothing but testing of PC hardware, so how was that "shit that wasn't even close to helping while acting like it will"?

It didn't help because he put in a new PSU and it fixed the issues. You were saying drivers, blah blah blah, PSU is fine.

I claimed drivers because it was happening with some, not all, games.
Here is what the OP's CPU draws at peak during Prime95, which is way more than what southpark247 stated:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/sandy-bridge-overclocking-efficiency,2850-9.html

So, if the OP had included in his original post that his CPU and GPU were not running at stock speeds, it would gave been obvious that his previous PSU was inadequate!
A 5850 idles at 18 watts, so 238 watts - 18 watts = 210 watts, but all of the other peripherals are needed to be subtracted, too... A HDD is about 10 watts, 2 sticks of RAM are about 6 watts, and those are all of the components that Tom's listed, so it was about 194 watts at peak power (I do not know what the motherboard's power draw is), which would be too much for the OP's PSU.

Basically, I want better numbers, but I hope that this is my last post in this thread because it seems that no one can provide better numbers, to go against mine that I found.

The following link suggests that southpark247's 140 watts were accurate:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/4083/the-sandy-bridge-review-intel-core-i7-2600k-i5-2500k-core-i3-2100-tested/21

The following link shows a difference of 78 watts with a 4.9GHz overclock versus the stock 3.4GHz:
http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1501/6/

I bet that the OP will claim to have no overclock or that is is a slight one on the CPU...

Intel uses the same 95 watts TDP for both of the i5-2500k and i5-2600k, but they show a 16 watts difference.

Damn, I just noticed that the Tom's was from the wall, so that means that the PSU's efficiency must be calculated, too, and blah.

The following link recommends a 500 watts PSU for a non-overclocked 570 and 550 watts for an overclocked 570:

Shouldn't let people get to you man.

I had no idea the card and chip were overclocked out of the box. I needed more power

I am wondering why my latest link suggests only a 550 watts PSU for an overclocked 570.
Is your CPU overclocked?
Is your PSU degraded from its usage that would be the cause of it being inadequate?

I thank southpark247 for his numbers, as he was the only other person who offered any help. I offered what I could, but I have but others' numbers to go by...

Both parts are brand new. So, no.

And it's computer components, they won't always perform exactly the same.
