Oh noes....my air conditioner broke. :(


The good part is it broke...ON. The thermostat switch is the part that broke. I can just order another on payday and swap it out myself.

It looks like this, and costs $36 :D

Actually it broke in the full on position...so idle temps are even more awesome.

Use your electrical experience and just wire a AC single throw light switch in between your cable going from the outlet and the unit.

Hell if you want to be special you could wire a 2 3way switches in there and turn it on and off from 2 locations!

I can also just use the switch on the A/C unit to turn it off. No wiring necessary. :)

The main on/off switch still works fine...it's just the thermostat switch (variable resistor) that crapped out.


/e Best of all for me at least is that the thermostat died in the ON position, so all I need do is turn the A/C unit on and I have max cool.

So my dumbass neighbor accidentally killed himself. He was cleaning his gun and did not unloaded it....
